My creative energy for photography wilted over the pandemic. I’ve been spending a lot of time hiking and walking outdoors — seeing “purple mountain majesties” and other stunning landscapes — but it has been difficult to pick up any camera not built into my phone.
After a long break, I started photographing again this month when I traveled to my grandparents’ hometown in Nebraska. True to the family name, there were many birds.
